PELOSI SAYS NO WITCH HUNT

Here's part of the article

...Further, according to House Oversight Committee staff, Emanuel has received assurances from Pelosi that she will not allow what he termed a "witch hunt" to take place during the next Congressional session over the role Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac played in the economic crisis...

I bet she doesn't want a witch hunt, because we know who in this congress will be burnt at the stake.

DOES OBAMA PLAY THE GAME BETTER?

Obama Proposes Hiking FDIC Limit: Reports

We know how this will play out don't we. The Democrats will adopt this plan from Obama and give him all the credit, the republicans will have no choice but to vote for the Bill this time around. Obama will claim to have done it all without going to Washington. The end result will be that McCain looks like a failure. Never mind that the Dems could have passed the original Bill, they do after all have the majority. But that fact is lost on many. Could this whole thing have been planned by Pelosi? If so she's must be a genius, of course we know she's really just a partisan idiot so it's not possible for her to have thought this all ahead.

I really don't believe that McCain is a failure but it is clear that Obama is much better at playing this game called Politics, and Obama played this one well and unfortunately in elections perceptions matter.

Advocates Demand Congress Put Bailout Details on Internet

DEAL REACHED?

You know I'm not an economist so I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of this monster. But what I do know is that McCain should come out and say this:

My friends, the original bill was loaded with pork, and it was my goal to make sure that this was a clean bill. Like I said in the debates, I'm going to name the names of the people in this congress who tried to add pork to this bill. I'm glad that with the help of the Republican House, we were able to clean it up and get it passed for the good of the American People. I have distributed a list of people along with a list of pork they tried to add. But for the sake of getting it on the record I will be reading it on the floor tomorrow.

That would make me happy, but alas I know I'm dreaming.

WHO WON THE DEBATE?

In my opinion, McCain showed himself to be much more in tune with what needs to be done in Washington; He acted much more Presidential then did Obama. Although I don't agree with McCain on a lot of things, I know this man loves his Country and will do whatever it takes to protect her. He has the experience and the wisdom to handle a variety of issues, including the economy but even more so the War on Terror. I like the fact that he wants to get rid of the spending in Washington, I wish him luck with that especially if their is a veto proof Majority. I like that he's tough on terror, our enemies need to know not to mess with him. They will think twice before taking action with him as President.

Obama didn't do a bad job debating, he didn't seem to lose his composure, although he looked frustrated and interrupted several times. I think the Obama camp will be happy that he didn't make any obvious mistakes. I don't think he lost any votes with his performance, but I also don't think he got any. Half the time I didn't know what the hell he was talking about, and I'm not sure he knew himself. On the economy it was clear to me that he leans towards socialism or worse. I'm not sure the general public gets that though. They hear someone who seems to know a lot about different issues and is able to talk about them seemingly "intelligently." On the War on Terror he failed miserably, he has no idea how to present himself to our enemies. They will see him as weak and naive. This is one of the scary things about Obama; I really believe if he gets elected we will see more attacks, and a lot of what has been accomplished by the Bush Administration will be undone.

Overall, I thought it was a good debate to watch, I wasn't bored and learned a few things about each guy. The media will spin this as a draw or win for Obama because he didn't fall on his face. I believe the average American will see it differently. My hope is that the media affords to Governor Palin the same set of standards when she debates next week, but I'm not holding my breath.

SARAH PALIN SWIMSUITE COMPETITION

SARAH PALIN SWIMSUIT COMPETITION!!!! Miss Alaska Pageant 1984 ...

Here it is folks the October Surprise

Statement By McCain Campaign On Negotiations

McCain's Statment

John McCain’s decision to suspend his campaign was made in the hopes that politics could be set aside to address our economic crisis.
In response, Americans saw a familiar spectacle in Washington. At a moment of crisis that threatened the economic security of American families, Washington played the blame game rather than work together to find a solution that would avert a collapse of financial markets without squandering hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ money to bailout bankers and brokers who bet their fortunes on unsafe lending practices.
Both parties in both houses of Congress and the administration needed to come together to find a solution that would deserve the trust of the American people. And while there were attempts to do that, much of yesterday was spent fighting over who would get the credit for a deal and who would get the blame for failure. There was no deal or offer yesterday that had a majority of support in Congress. There was no deal yesterday that included adequate protections for the taxpayers. It is not enough to cut deals behind closed doors and then try to force it on the rest of Congress — especially when it amounts to thousands of dollars for every American family.
The difference between Barack Obama and John McCain was apparent during the White House meeting yesterday where Barack Obama’s priority was political posturing in his opening monologue defending the package as it stands. John McCain listened to all sides so he could help focus the debate on finding a bipartisan resolution that is in the interest of taxpayers and homeowners. The Democratic interests stood together in opposition to an agreement that would accommodate additional taxpayer protections.
Senator McCain has spent the morning talking to members of the Administration, members of the Senate, and members of the House. He is optimistic that there has been significant progress toward a bipartisan agreement now that there is a framework for all parties to be represented in negotiations, including Representative Blunt as a designated negotiator for House Republicans. The McCain campaign is resuming all activities and the Senator will travel to the debate this afternoon. Following the debate, he will return to Washington to ensure that all voices and interests are represented in the final agreement, especially those of taxpayers and homeowners.

WILL THEY OR WON'T THEY?

UPDATE

Breaking News >> McCain Camp Says Republican Will Resume Campaign Activities, Travel to Debate Tonight

Still no deal, so should McCain stay in Washington or go to the Debate?

I think maybe he should go to the debate, wipe the floor with Obama on foreign policy, then head back to Washington and finish his work there.
Either way Obama comes out of this looking like an idiot.

Does that mean Obama's smoking habit and past drug use is fair game now?

GOVERNOR PALIN TAKES QUESTION AT GROUND ZERO

VIDEO

...Regarding Ground Zero, Palin said, "I wish every American would come through here, I wish every world leader would come through here and understand what it is that took place here and more importantly how America came together united to commit to never allowing this to happen again."

HARRY REID CAN'T MAKE UP HIS MIND

First Harry Reid said this:

"A consensus couldn’t be achieved without John McCain’s leadership."

and now he says this:

“It appears to me John McCain is trying to divert attention to his failing campaign,” said Reid. “He can spare an hour and a half of his time and participate in that debate.”

Reid re-told the story ABC News reported earlier, that McCain called Reid to offer his help and Reid read him the statement he’d already issued, implying McCain’s plans were nothing more than “a campaign photo op.”

“With all due respect to my friend John McCain,” said Reid — showing not a great deal of respect for a man who is not necessarily his friend — “we’re doing just fine. This should not have presidential politics doing here.”

So which is it Harry?

Politics as usual for the Democrats.

THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES

Looks like Obama is going to Washington after all. Of course he'll try to spin it that it was his choice, and probably his idea to begin with. But we all know what happened don't we. He looked like a rookie yesterday, and showed his true colors. He just doesn't get that there is more to life then campaigning. Obama responded originally by saying a snarky comment about how a President should be able to do more then one thing at a time, and that they "can call him if they need him." Gee thanks Obama, maybe the American people would actually like you to earn some of that money your making as a SENATOR. In a statement I heard on Fox last night, the Obama campaign said they were assured this wasn't just a photo op, and that there would be shared credit if the Bill passes. Ok Obama you'll get some credit for something you didn't earn, so now it's safe for you to go to Washington and do some more spinning.
Unfortunately for you Obama most Americans can see through your words and lies.

You can watch the spin yourself below.

MORE FUN AND GAMES FROM THE DEMOCRATS

I guess Pelosi and her gang think since they know the Preident won't veto the upcoming bail out bill, lets go ahead and add a whole load of crap to it. I guess they figure no one will notice right? This is so unbelievable and exactly the type of thing that needs to stop happening in Washington. I'm so sick of this, do they even care that it's not their money they are spending?

I think we all know the answer to that one don't we!

...But she is also pushing for a new stimulus package that would include support for the US car industry as well as longstanding Democratic demands, such as infrastructure investment, extended unemployment insurance and healthcare assistance...

PROTEST AT JOHN MCCAINS HOUSE

There are people protesting at John McCains house as we speak. Why? Because he owns a house and they don't. I just saw it on Neil Cavuto, the financial crisis is all John McCains fault and it's not fair.

I guess he just lost the stupid vote.

Oh yeah, it's all Bush's fault.

Race War In America?

Well what a surprise another liberal whining about race.
http://www.philly.com/philly/opinion/20080916_Fatimah_Ali___Race_war__in_America.html

Fatimah Ali writes in this piece about all the hate mail she's received from her article that drudge linked last week. Anyone can see that she cherry picks through her emails to try and make the point, which I think is Liberals Good/ Republicans Bad. Here's just a taste

...I hate violence, but I do see a growing wave of intolerance sweeping the nation. And most of the responses were hostile, like one from someone who identified himself as Dennis Van Pelt: "Obama runs like a porch monkey in Alabama during a KKK concert." But, not all white Southerners feel like Dennis. Russ Nelson wrote: "I am a white male who was proud to cast my vote for Barack Obama in the Alabama state primary. He inspires me!"
Nelson sounds more like the liberal whites I grew up with in West Mount Airy, a community that pioneered integration in Philadelphia and kept me wearing rose-colored glasses. I didn't personally experience racism until I was 40, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I get it, your not a racist if your a white liberal democrat, everyone else is a member of the KKK etc... and by the way why do you assume Mr. Van Pelt is white, a little presumptuous aren't you.
The only person in this election who has brought race into the mix is Obama.

and then you make a statement like this:

"Do these quotes shock you? Is the vitriol not far from the kind of hatred that led to lynching?"

You throw around statements like this without the first clue how stupid and insensitive you sound. You said your self you are middle class, and you obviously have a pretty good job, yet even with your success your still full of doom and gloom. It's a shame that all you are left with is race bating and inflammatory statements.
Ms. Ali I believe you are a narrow minded spoiled little girl who is having a tantrum because things aren't going your way.

IS OBAMA TRYING TO UNDERMINE U.S. FOREIGN POLICY?

Talk about Hubris, this guy is acting like he's the president already, seriously who does he think he is?

From the New York Post....

http://www.nypost.com/seven/09152008/postopinion/opedcolumnists/obama_tried_to_stall_gis_iraq_withdrawal_129150.htm
According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

"However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open." Zebari says.

Though Obama claims the US presence is "illegal," he suddenly remembered that Americans troops were in Iraq within the legal framework of a UN mandate. His advice was that, rather than reach an accord with the "weakened Bush administration," Iraq should seek an extension of the UN mandate.

While in Iraq, Obama also tried to persuade the US commanders, including Gen. David Petraeus, to suggest a "realistic withdrawal date." They declined.

and... THE OBAMA CAMP DENIAL RIGHT HERE, ONLY IT LOOKS LIKE AN ADMISSION TO ME...

But Obama's national security spokeswoman Wendy Morigi said Taheri's article bore "as much resemblance to the truth as a McCain campaign commercial."

In fact, Obama had told the Iraqis that they should not rush through a "Strategic Framework Agreement" governing the future of US forces until after President George W. Bush leaves office, she said.
In the face of resistance from Bush, the Democrat has long said that any such agreement must be reviewed by the US Congress as it would tie a future administration's hands on Iraq.

"Barack Obama has never urged a delay in negotiations, nor has he urged a delay in immediately beginning a responsible drawdown of our combat brigades," Morigi said.

I'd say there was some double talk going on, but not by McCain.

OBAMA AND ANNENBERG CHALLANGE

It is truly amazing to me that the news media doesn't think that it is relevant to look into this information. As an average American I want to know how the people running for president feel about this country. We all know that Obama has a 20 year relationship with a pastor who clearly does not love his country and spouts of hate on a daily basis. We also know that Obama is friends with a person who is a domestic terrorist. Is it really such a stretch to imagine that Obama himself has bad feelings towards this country? Why won't someone ask him these questions? Take a look at this video.
